The bottommost painting is so beautiful.
Hailing from the west African nation of Nigeria, Peju Alatise is a mixed media artist and writer whose talents cover various fields ranging from jewelry design and painting, to architecture and furniture design. Most of her art features women as the main subjects, often in seemingly delicate and vulnerable positions, but Alatise brings them to life by making use of a mixture of vibrant colours and unique artistic techniques.
About her art, Alatise has this to say,
“As an artist, I have learned to become a medium for a viewer to observe through to attain a different perspective. Just as a pair of spectacles would either alter or enhance the wearer’s vision, I lend myself to an onlooker to see a subject matter through my own eyes to observe differently.”
